Track/ Equicentral Grazing System
Waitoru Farm (meaning three waters in Maori)-Is a 40 acre organic farm set up for horses backing onto Maramarua Forest.
We are a family run organic farm set amongst the Maramarua Forest only 45 minutes from Manukau, Auckland.
We have created a horse haven on 40 acres called Waitoru Farm, with track and equicentral sytems for optimal horse health.
We offer a natural environment for horses to graze in a herd and interact with each other as naturally as possible.
We live onsite and have over 30 years combined experience in farming, horse management and assisting people with horse management, including groundwork, riding, feeding, hoof and body care.
It is set up to emulate the horse's natural living environment, to allow horses to interact and graze and behave as they would naturally. No square paddocks, no poisonous pastures, no boring stables. The pasture is low sugar, high fibre and rich in nutrients. It is organically farmed for optimal horse health.
The horse are given organic hay and are naturally exercised on track daily.
You can enjoy riding in the expansive forest, around the lake and on the farm.
We also have a 60 x 40 all weather arena and 20 metre round pen.
Our naturalhorsemanship lessons are available at our farm or your place with your horse. We advocate for bitless riding of which we have helped transition hundreds of riders and horses from bitted to bitless and the results are life changing by helping build confidence, communication, trust and care so you learn to understand your horse and stay safe.
We also offer barefoot hoof trimming for our grazing customers, and have over 19 years experience.
We can fully assist in transitioning from shod to barefoot, or sore barefoot hooves to functional happy barefoot hooves.
